Job description: Job Description:Wood is currently inviting expressions of interest for Engineering Design System Lead position to join our office in Muscat, Oman for FEED project. Please note that at this stage, applications for this role are invited as an Expression of Interest (EOI) whilst opportunities are being fully determined.Responsibilities:
- Manage the day to day running of the EDS Group personnel for all business related activities including but not be limited to work load, prioritization of work tasks, division of tasks within the group, training and development, budgeting, mentoring and coaching where required
- Interact directly with Discipline Leads for any issues with the engineering and design tools directly and or the support and maintenance of those tools
- Provide mentoring and coaching of system environments and tools to any subordinates within the group
- Establish and maintain procedures/specifications etc. for the Engineering Office and liaise with the Corporate and Functional Groups for IM procedures/specifications etc.
- Provide oversight management of contract services, license agreements, section budgets and ensuring that facilities design deliverables are of exemplary quality
- Implement, practice and Monitor Quality Management System (QMS) in FEED office projects in line with ISO 9001-2015 and API Q2:2nd Edition requirements
- Manage a group of system specialists representing the full spectrum of in-depth technical discipline expertise required for the execution of FEED Office projects and handover to Operations and Maintenance
- Manage and coordinate the identification, assessment, development and deployment technologies, systems, and work processes to achieve breakthrough performance in the IM sphere within the Engineering Office
- Promote application of new technologies / methodologies within the Engineering Office
- Provide leadership, mentoring/coaching, and development of staff to ensure technical capabilities are available, including active participation in the recruiting process
- Assist management team with recruitment for EDS personnel for the Engineering Office
- Help develop a global Engineering, Design and Project delivery skill pool
- Be a team player where recognition of team performance is on the whole, a greater priority than projecting individual contribution
- Be able to work in a team environment and manage multiple project responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of an associate degree or equivalency in the computer drafting or engineering technology related field with at least 15+ years of experience in applying the discipline skill(s) to upstream oil and gas projects with experience on major capital projects
- Has proven experience in managing and leading EDS/IM Teams in Owner Operator and or EPC office environments
- Knowledgeable of the major industry standard engineering and design tools
- Has a strong background in FEED and detailed design projects, as well as piping, structural, electrical, instrumentation and P&ID knowledge
- Experience in implementation, maintenance and development of engineering and design system tools within an Owner Operator and or Engineering Office environment
- Familiar with a variety of the IM discipline concepts, best practices, and procedures
