Job description: We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Engineer – Project Planning & Control to join our dynamic team in Karatha, Western Australia. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project planning, scheduling, cost control, and execution, particularly in large-scale projects within the Ammonia C Urea Fertilizer Industry, Oil and Gas Industry, or EPC sector.
This is a Key role that requires a deep understanding of project management methodologies, advanced planning tools, and a hands-on approach to ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. You will work alongside senior management, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to drive the successful execution of large-scale projects.Education/Experience Requirements

  • Oualification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience in project planning and control within the Ammonia G Urea Fertilizer, Oil G Gas, or EPC industries.
  • Proven experience with large-scale projects (preferably in the range of $50 million and above) in complex and challenging environments.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, scheduling techniques, and cost control practices.
  • Expertise in utilizing Primavera P6, MS Project, and other planning tools for schedule management.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP, or similar) will be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of Industry Standards: In-depth understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to project planning and control in the Ammonia C Urea Fertilizer, Oil C Gas, or EPC sectors.

Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers, based in Western Australia, is developing Project Ceres-Australia’s largest and one of the world’s biggest urea plants, with a USD $4.5 billion investment and a capacity of 2.3 million metric tons per year. Located in Karratha, the plant will use feedstock from Woodside under a 20-year supply agreement and has a 20-year offtake agreement with Incitec Pivot. Urea is a safe, non-toxic fertiliser vital for boosting global agricultural productivity. The project will support the fertiliser supply chain, add value to Australian resources, and create around 2,000 jobs, including 200 permanent roles, boosting the local economy.
