The Financial Management Branch is responsible for supporting the department deliver for the veteran community by providing timely, accurate and informative financial support. The Branch has a range of core functions including:
The Financial Management Branch is going through a renewal process and is looking for staff to continue to support these changes and improvements in the way we operate. A key change is the implementation of new systems to support a modern and contemporary operating environment, with a new expense management and travel system being rolled out and a new FMIS planned to be implemented through 2024 and 2025.These system changes are supported by improvements to how we operate and deliver our services, with a view to provide not only reliable, timely and accurate financial support but looking to work with other key enabling areas to provide seamless services to the department.We are looking for high performers and exceptional leaders who not only want to apply their expertise, but who want to proactively influence change. You need to be able to operate independently, be an agile and responsive leader, with excellent attention to detail and with relevant Commonwealth or private sector experience in managing a financial function.You will have a positive and proactive attitude, be able to manage multiple priorities as well as being resilient, responsive and flexible. You will have the ability to collaborate effectively, navigate ambiguity, be solutions focused, think on your feet and be able to work under limited direction. As part of the senior Finance team, you will be responsible for influencing and developing strategies, policies, priorities and operational practices, building team capability and critically reviewing and improving practices.To be successful you will:
