The Role
Working within Estate Planning Branch’s Directorate for Estate Integration, the successful candidate will be accountable, under broad direction, to achieve complex to very complex estate strategic planning outcomes. You will be responsible for integrating Defence estate planning to ensure it aligns with current strategic guidance, in particular the National Defence Strategy.The role is unique and changes daily. Some days you will be actively engaging with the Defence Strategic Centre, representing Security and Estate Group (SEG) at strategic workshops and experimentation exercises. Other days you will be delivering strategic studies or drafting Ministerial advice and/or responses, or briefing Defence senior leadership on a wide range of issues.The successful candidate will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role, engaging in complex to very complex problem solving and issues management, as well as coordinating and undertaking detailed or sensitive projects that impact strategic, political or operational outcomes for Defence You will exercise very good high level decision making and judgement to provide expert policy advice.Your ability to provide strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills is a key part of the role and the successful candidate will be required to represent SEG at strategic planning meetings.Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 2”.About our Team
Estate Planning Branch is responsible for preparing the Defence estate for the future. The Branch provides a critical role in how the Defence estate is shaped to achieve Government’s strategic requirements and to enhance Defence capability.Estate Planning provides critical outputs to guide decisions on the future disposition of facilities and infrastructure, ensuring a safe, secure, resilient and fit for purpose estate that supports Defence capability. Estate Planning works closely with key stakeholders across all Defence groups and services to understand strategic drivers and capability requirements to examine suitable solutions both on and off the Defence estate.The Directorate of Estate Integration informs a range of Defence planning processes, including:
