The Role
A strong team player with an analytical mind, excellent communication skills and proficiency in test and evaluation planning is being sought to provide leadership and organisational direction to the Land Test and Evaluation Plans team.As Deputy Director Test & Evaluation Plans you will be responsible for developing the Land test and Evaluation program managing the plans team and allocating resources to develop strategies and evaluate test requirements. The role will be required to draw on technical expertise and to lead, plan and guide the work of the personnel under their remit.Key duties of the role include:
- Responsible for development and coordination of the Land Test and Evaluation Program
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure The Land Test and Evaluation Program is synchronises with Army’s annual training program and supporting activities.
- Support the development and implementation of program and project test and evaluation documentation.
- Conduct evaluation of test activities, to ensure operational effectiveness, suitability and safety of land capability. Validating a system’s functional and physical performance, and fundamental inputs to capability.
- Ensure the continued compliance of test and evaluation activates within the Land domain.
- Providing subject matter expert advice to test and evaluation activities for Capability Program and Project submissions.
- Develop and implement work plans, set performance indicators, and review individual, team and business performance.
- Implementation of the Land Test and Evaluation policy and Standard Operating Procedures, providing clear direction to manage performance and meet program delivery schedules.
Note:
Job specific training and mentoring will be provided to the successful candidate. This position will provide the successful candidate with diverse, but rewarding, meaningful and challenging experiences.This position requires the candidate to maintain an Australian Government security clearance and to be able to provide personnel information for the last ten years as security clearance upgrade may also be required. The successful candidate may be able to start in the position with a Baseline Clearance with the expectation that a Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance will be obtained after commencement.About our Team

- Have an in-depth knowledge of designing and planning test and evaluation activates and conducting mission analysis.
- Be able to provide strategic direction and clearly articulate goals to achieve program, project and product objectives in accordance with Defence policies and procedures.
- The ability to perform tasks associated with managing and undertaking the Test and Evaluation activities in compliance with policy.
- Have an understanding of the Defence Test and Evaluation Manual, Test and Evaluation Practitioners and Management Handbooks and One Defence Capability System processes is preferred.
