As a team, we are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to redirect, neutralise and use waste.Job DescriptionAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Education Officer to join our friendly team at our Head Office, based in East Tamaki. In this role you will be working with residents, businesses, the local community and Council with education campaigns; assist the local community by responding to refuse, recycling and food scrap collection issues at the customer end of the operation and contribute to increasing market share for the Council refuse service and participation.Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out bin audits and resolution into bin mis-use issues
  • Developing programme plans for work in collaboration with the Council Contract management and enforcement officers to determine focus areas
  • Visiting and educating residents/businesses that are non-compliant in a number of areas; ensuring appropriate actions, documentation and reporting processes are followed
  • Providing monthly reporting to council outlining the work done in the previous months, successes, persistent issue areas and progress

QualificationsTo be successful in this role you need to have:

  • High attention to detail, strong verbal communication skills and a good understanding of operating procedures
  • Proficient in using MS office software (word, excel, internet explorer)
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and strong time management
  • Class 1 Driver’s licence
