Job description: What you will do:

• Operate the Edger at the production rate or higher
• Monitor and straighten boards on all lumber chains going to and from the Edger
• Unhang boards, strips and anything else that gets hung up in the Edger, VDA, Block Chipper and infeed conveyer to the Block Chipper
• Check boards periodically during the shift to make sure the saws are not causing manufacturing defects
• Change saws in the Edger
• Performs PM’s on the Edger, edger accessories and the remain chains
• Assist maintenance in the machine shop repair jobs
• Assist the Sawmill Relief with his/her duties, as needed
• Investigate down mill time and offer assistance
• Communicate Edger downtime to the downtime recorder
• Get computer reports at the end of shift
• Work area must be clean for the next shift
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Good communication skills
• Good attendance record
• Must know how to follow directions
• Must have the ability to learn all required duties
• Must be safety oriented
• Experience working in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment
