Job description: Job Posting Title: Dry Dock Database Architect & Project Planning ManagerReq ID: 10110905Job Description:Position SummaryUnder the oversight of the Managing Director (DCL UK) the Dry Dock Database Architect & Project Planning Manager is responsible for the database management system (AMOS) to ensure data integrity, perform troubleshooting, and assist in optimizing the performance of database during the planning and execution phases of the dry-docking/out of service periods. Responsible for during the dry-docking/Out of Service periods, coordinating with DCL Project Managers, 3rd party consultants, construction vendors and shipyard dry dock team for the project schedules.Reporting RelationshipAs specified in the current approved department organization chartResponsibilities

  • Support the DCL dry dock team with planning, execution and supervising input into the AMOS system for all dry dock projects.
  • Provide support and guidance to the Dry Dock Team with regards to system configuration to meet their requirements.
  • Liaise with the Marine and Technical Maintenance System Manager on all aspects related to AMOS and the Dry Dock projects.
  • Manage structure and contents to the system to confirm they align with established conventions.
  • Manage and verify AMOS procedures for the Dry Docks are being correctly followed through continuous dry dock team coaching and training.
  • Manage and consolidate technical drawings, certificates, and Technical Manuals digital library. Providing timely and accurate Ship specific regulatory certification.
  • Ensure that all new assets/inventory is updated accordingly in AMOS system.
  • Responsible for the creation and management of new reports, as needed for AMOS operations related to Dry Docks, to use for analysis of costs and data stability.
  • Responsible for driving and developing process improvements to ensure maximal compliance from end users; and ability to collaborate with and influence other business stakeholder for best integration.
  • Consult, advise, and influence the use of AMOS system for the management for the dry docks.
  • Collaborating with IT teams and software developers to integrate databases with existing systems and applications. Ensure that systems are continuously developed to meet dry docking requirements.
  • Maintain, track and lead presentations of master schedule discussions throughout the execution phase of the dry dock project.
  • Coordinate the overall and individual project schedules, establishing which projects have a critical path. Identifying potential work conflicts, pinch points and logistics conflicts. Lead discussions on any conflict resolution.
  • Coordinate with DCL Project Managers and 3rd party vendors to receive the project planning, daily work schedule, of individual projects to be undertaken during dry docking/out of service period.
  • Leverage Microsoft Project and other scheduling tools to create, import, integrate, all projects into master schedule for the dry dock/out of service period.
  • Partner with the Integration Manager to develop berthing plan of vessel during out of service/dry docking period.
  • During out of service period/dry docking, schedule/coordinate walkthroughs on projects to track daily progress of work against schedule, recording all data to produce daily report for Lead Project Managers on all work.
  • Lead review of daily project schedule/progress at DCL/Vendor daily meeting
  • Identify in advance using master schedule slippage in progress of project schedules. Liaise with DCL project managers and construction vendors to return projects to scheduled timelines.
  • Post dry dock produce and present construction vendor quality/assessment report for project evaluation to project managers and senior leaders.
  • Lead after action review preparing lessons learnt report, facilitating ongoing improvements of dry dock projects through implementation of lessons learnt.
  • Preparation mapping documentation of processes developed for the improvement of dry dock procedures.
  • Lead in the development of scheduling software packages which will improve the overall efficiency of projects within the operations team.
  • Responsible for implementing Safety Management System policies and procedures relative to areas of responsibilities. Makes sure the operating procedures pertaining to both shipboard and shore-based technical operating practices are in place and functioning in compliance with the SMS

  • High level of knowledge and experience in Microsoft Project
  • Proficient computer skills with familiarity using Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Project Management
  • Experience working with vendors/contractors.
  • Cruise/Maritime industry experience
  • Knowledge of construction practices and related accounting
