Closing Date: 11:30 PM, Wednesday 29 January 2025About the OpportunityDo you want to make a difference to the South Australian small business community?The office of the South Australian Small Business Commissioner (SASBC) is seeking to fill a vacancy for the Dispute and Regulation Advisor role in the Regulation and Advice team.In this role, you will be responsible for receiving and assessing enquires, complaints and disputes received in accordance with legislation administered by SASBC.The Regulation and Advice team operates in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, where your case management and dispute resolution skills will be highly valuable.In making recommendations on appropriate action and enforcement activities, you will utilise your analytical skills in application of relevant legislation and consideration of the Commissioner’s responsibilities under industry codes. The Dispute and Regulation Advisor will also provide general advice to small business owners around issues affecting their business operations, including retail and commercial leasing matters.About the BusinessThe office of the South Australian Small Business Commissioner (SASBC) is an independent statutory Office of the South Australian Government.The functions of the office are to:

  • Facilitate alternative dispute resolution between small businesses, and between small businesses and state or local government.
  • Advocate on behalf of the small business community, or a section of it, regarding collective issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and engage with small businesses to provide information and guidance.
  • Regulate by administering and enforcing legislative powers and responsibilities assigned to the Small Business Commissioner.
  • Deliver fair, timely and consistent services to, and on behalf of, South Australian small businesses.
