We have $4.7bn total assets spread across four main campuses, and a substantial on-going capital works programme.Job DescriptionThe Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahiThis is a pivotal leadership role at the University of Auckland, responsible for enabling strategic alignment, insight-led planning, and enterprise-wide performance.As Director – Strategic Planning & Programmes, you will lead a newly shaped function that supports the University’s strategic direction through integrated planning, data governance, and programme enablement. You will oversee the development of planning frameworks, performance measures, and strategic initiatives that contribute to the University’s long-term success-enhancing institutional effectiveness, operational agility, and service design.Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead a diverse team that brings together strategic planning, business capability, data insights, and programme delivery. With visibility across the full strategic cascade-from institutional strategy to implementation and outcomes-you will help ensure decisions are informed, aligned, and impactful.You will lead a portfolio working across the University, including education, research, and professional services, to support strategic alignment and enable new ways of operating. You will engage with senior leaders and government agencies to support investment planning, optimise funding, and contribute to the University’s reputation, sustainability, and success.This is a rare opportunity to shape how strategy is delivered at scale in a globally ranked university, while living in one of the world’s most liveable cities.
