With our hands at work across all aspects of health, we use the most advanced development tools, AI, data science and innovative approaches to make the healthcare system work better for everyone.The Director of Operations and Business Performance will oversee and manage a diverse team responsible for business performance and forecasting, inventory management and capacity planning, and program oversight. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, capable of driving operational excellence and fostering cross-functional collaboration to achieve business objectives.Schedule: Full-time position with standard working hours of Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin or Letterkenny office and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Business Performance & Forecasting Specialist, Inventory Management & Capacity Planning Leader, and Program Oversight Leader
• Oversee the transition of tactical tasks from the US, including invoicing quality checks and monthly accounting file delivery
• Monitor business performance, track forecasting, and identify trends to provide actionable insights
• Ensure accurate and timely financial tracking and reporting
• Inventory Management & Capacity Planning: Optimize resource allocation to achieve business objectives through real-time (intra-day) management
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of operational readiness initiatives across various lines of business
• Coordinate with AI, client service delivery, and other relevant teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of strategic initiatives
• Establish metrics and KPIs to measure project performance and operational readiness

• Experience in leading and managing diverse teams
• Understanding of financial processes, including invoicing and accounting
• Experience managing operations across multiple geographies
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights
• Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint), dashboarding tools (Tableau, PowerBI), and SQL
• Experience in leading and managing complex projects and ensuring operational readiness

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in advanced data analytics and predictive modeling
• Project Management Certification / PMP or similar certification
• Familiarity with integrating AI solutions into business processes
• Expertise in leading change management initiatives
• Skills in advanced financial analysis and reporting

Soft Skills:

• Collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial tracking and reporting
