Job description: Role: Director of MIS and Data SystemsHours: 37 hours per weekSalary: Special Management Salary (£63,497 gross Per Annum)Responsible to: Vice Principal: Finance and Corporate ServicesResponsible for: IT & MISSalary: £63,497 gross Per Annum – flexibility on salary for right candidateThe PositionTo lead and manage a corporate services function with a diverse portfolio. To provide leadership and vision to the Management Information Systems, Business Intelligence, Admissions, Exams and Computer Services teams.Main Duties and Responsibilities1. Lead and manage the teams, ensuring that all members contribute effectively and efficiently with a focus on customer service. Ensure that all staff management duties are carried out in accordance with College Policy (i.e. appraisals, staff development, training etc.)2. Responsibility for day-to-day management and monitoring the Colleges ESFA, OfS funding contracts, the submission of corporate returns, (including ILRs, HESEs etc.), forecasting, data quality and audit compliance.3. Responsibility for all aspects of Management Information Systems (MIS), including maintaining the student record database, provision of reporting suites, the Individual Learner Record (ILR), Admissions, Exams, reception and admin.4. Responsibility for the provision of all aspects of Information Technology (IT) across College, this incorporates, hardware, software, networks and all related systems – both staff and student.5. Ensuring that the Colleges ‘Information Dashboard’ and Power BI provides accurate and timely data that services the needs of all levels of users. Plus the provision of ad-hoc reports for management as required.6. Regular presentation of key data to College Leadership Team, highlighting areas of concern.7. Interpretation and implementation the funding rules, that maximises’ funding and ensures audit compliance.8. Responsibility for ensuring the curriculum offered and delivered, achieves the maximum funding and that evidence is in place to support existence, eligibility and achievement for all aspects of each learners programme.9. Ensuring all processes are efficient and all staff deliver excellent customer service.10. Ensuring all areas of College are both aware and compliant with the principals of the Data Protection Act and that training is delivered.11. Leadership of the team, including management of the staff, recruitment and appraisals.12. Management of the budgets, tendering processes and contracts for the service – reviewing suitability and making recommendations for change as appropriate.13. Preparation and delivery of a business plan, self-assessment review (SAR), quality improvement plan and service standards that are linked to the achievement of the College’s strategic objectives.14. Ensuring the College has an effective and innovative Strategy in place for the Service.15. Being a pro-active and effective member of the College Leadership Team, which includes being involved in cross college work, initiatives and working groups where required.16. Undertake continuous professional development as necessary to keep up to date with initiatives and practice and complete mandatory training.17. To positively contribute to a safe learning and work environment ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and Safeguarding Policy and procedure.18. All staff have a contribution to make to the way of which we engage with prospective and existing students, which is implicit in our vision, missions and goals and which places students at the centre of what we do.
