  • Be responsible for driving innovation and executing strategic development initiatives to achieve the objectives outlined in our business plans.
  • Lead, manage, and ensure the successful implementation of key projects.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, spearheading Skanska UK’s innovation strategy and programs.
  • Ensure alignment of strategic development activities with the organization’s long-term goals.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of BU business plan.
  • Oversee a portfolio of strategic development projects and innovation activities, ensuring optimal resource allocation, budget adherence, and timely delivery. Develop and implement clear KPIs and success metrics to monitor the effectiveness of strategic initiatives. Lead key strategic initiatives, such as the Horizontals project.
  • Champion innovative approaches, including technology-driven solutions, to enhance business performance and competitive advantage. Lead Skanska UK’s innovation strategy and innovation programme delivery, to understand, coordinate and support OU innovation strategies and activities, including the bidding and delivery of funded innovation projects. Be responsible for collaborating with the BU tax team and OU stakeholders to deliver the annual RDEC submission requirements. Represent Skanska UK externally with customers and industry on the topics of innovation and productivity.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams at all levels, including the Senior Management Team, and external partners, including clients, supply chain and industry bodies, to support strategic objectives.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Proven experience in leading strategic planning and business development initiatives.
  • Proven track record in leading strategic initiatives and managing complex projects within a large organization, establishing or leading a PMO.
  • Proven track record of fostering innovation and implementing new ideas to drive business growth.
  • Demonstrable competence in strategic planning and execution, including market analysis and opportunity identification.
  • Experience in collaborating with IT and Digital Transformation teams to align growth initiatives with technology advancements.
  • Expertise in commercial strategy, financial planning, and ROI measurement.
  • Strategic and Analytical Expertise: Strong strategic thinking, project management, and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement long-term business strategies and interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Business leadership knowledge, or potential to develop this
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively, ensuring collaboration and coordination across departments
