Job description: Job Category: Hotel-Human ResourcesJob Description:We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Human Resources to lead all HR functions at our hotel. This role is responsible for managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture, driving employee engagement, and ensuring HR practices align with the hotel’s goals and brand standards.YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies that support the hotel’s business objectives and enhance employee engagement.
  • Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training, development, and retention.
  • Provide guidance and support to department heads on HR-related issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and hotel policies.
  • Manage benefits administration, payroll coordination (if applicable), and employee records.
  • Lead talent acquisition efforts to attract high-quality candidates in a competitive hospitality market.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the property.
  • Monitor employee engagement and implement strategies to improve morale, productivity, and retention.
  • Handle investigations and resolve employee complaints in a fair and timely manner.
  • Support hotel leadership with succession planning and organizational development.
  • Coordinate and deliver training programs for employees and managers.
  • Maintain a strong presence and open-door policy to build trust and accessibility.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or director-level role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and hotel operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Flexible schedule availability to meet hotel needs, including occasional weekends or holidays.
