Job description: Director Leveraged and Acquisitions FinanceFull-time, Permanent RoleBased in Britomart, AucklandMō te tūranga | About the roleReporting to the Executive Director, Head of Loan Product, the role is primarily responsible for originating, structuring and executing leverage and acquisition finance transactions and developing long-term, sustainable customer relationships for a portfolio of existing and target customers for Westpac’s Institutional and Business Banking (IBB) teams.This is an opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated banking professional to use their origination and loan structuring skills. The role is well supported by the wider Corporate and Structured Finance team and the IBB relationship teams who assist in the origination and execution of transactions.This will include:Originating, structuring and executing acquisition finance transactionsPreparation of credit submissions (including financial modelling), term sheet negotiations and the execution of transactions in conjunction with internal and external legal counselMaintaining and cultivating relationships with PE firms and active corporate investorsPreparing or revising terms sheets, recommending pricing, negotiating terms with clients and their advisors, documenting facilities in conjunction with internal and external legal counsel.You will work closely with the Head of Loan Product, Relationship Managers and Credit Analysts across the bank to identify opportunities. You will also work with Internal Legal in the execution of transactions. Activity will encompass actively networking amongst the PE sponsors and active corporate investors, RFP responses, refinancings or restructurings, extensions, new to bank transactions, new loan product opportunities, transactions referred from the wider WBC network offshore.While you will have product coverage responsibilities across a range of clients, you will also be required to maintain market relationships with corporate finance advisors, debt advisors, legal firms and other market participants.Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?You must have a strong understanding of all forms of corporate debt and should be close to the market with regards to evolution of structures and pricing implications. While debt capital markets, securitisation, and asset finance product are managed through other specialist teams, you should also have a strong understanding of those products to assist with cross-sell opportunities. You are leader and market influencer and are expected to show excellence in everything you do.Essential skills include:deep knowledge of the banking & finance industryleadership skills and the ability to develop people and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of customers/investorsthe ability to manage time effectively, collaboration, and negotiation skillsStrong credit and financial modelling experienceYou will need to be a self-motivated team player, possessing strong initiative, drive and customer service values with at least 10+ years banking experience in a front office role.Westpac Hei Wāhi Mahi | Working at Westpac
