Job description: As the Director, Industrial Relations Policy and Legislation you will work autonomously and lead the Policy and Legislation unit in the Industrial Relations directorate to:Manage and co-ordinate the policy and legislative framework for industrial relations.
Provide strategic advice to senior management and the Minister that informs decision-making processes for improved industrial relations outcomes.
Consult and collaborate within government and wider community in the development and review of industrial relations policy.
Ensure appropriate representation by the Queensland government in national and state tribunals on industrial matters affecting Queensland workers and employers.The position report to the Executive Director, Industrial RelationsJob details Position status Permanent

  • Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills as applied to the research and analysis of complex policy problems and the implementation of major government policies, practices and strategies.
  • Highly developed leadership and team management skills as demonstrated by success in achieving objectives and in contributing to improved organisational performance in a demanding environment.
  • High level interpersonal and negotiation skills directed towards successful establishment and maintenance of relationships with stakeholders and the provision of high-level advice to the Minister, Director-General, and Government.
  • Thorough knowledge of the functions and operations of Government in order to implement government policy objectives.
