Job description: About This RoleThe Global Forecasting Lead role oversees and delivers on the Forecasting process and operation, driving accurate predictions and providing valuable insights for strategic planning and resource allocation across the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Franchise.You will be a strategic thought partner to the PDC senior stakeholders to develop and drive short- and long-term strategic planning, ensuring fundamental market dynamics are well understood and reflected, facilitating the discussion and decision process for key assumptions with Global and Regional leadership. The role requires strong analytical skills, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of global market trends.What You’ll DoForecasting Process & Strategic PartnershipDevelop and drive the short- and long-term planning predominantly for PDCs, including presenting recommendations to Senior/Executive Leadership, proactively and reactively developing business case scenarios, and ensuring alignment on core assumptions based on insights.Engage as a thought partner in facilitating a thorough understanding of business performance and opportunities and recommending insights-based decisions.Conduct scenario planning exercises to anticipate potential changes in market conditions and develop strategies to address various scenarios.Evaluate potential risks and uncertainties affecting forecasting accuracy and work on mitigating strategies.Utilize advanced statistical methods and forecasting models based on Epidemiology or other relevant data to analyze historical info, market trends, and external factors influencing demand.Identifies and raises critical issues.Proactively set the direction, drive, and strengthen the forecasting process in partnership with PDC and IT, applying efficient methodologies using the latest technology to drive robust operation.Driving Capabilities And Continuous ImprovementAssess and implement advanced forecasting technologies and tools to improve the precision and timeliness of predictions.Lead the Forecasting model creation, maintenance, and evolution, including providing training to countries’ teams for effective use.Act as a Project Leader or Project Manager in TA or Functional critical projects.Foster experience exchange and learning loops through internal community engagement, creating opportunities to nurture and support new ideas and showcase best practices and market trends.Who You AreYou love forecasting and are passionate about using data to guide key strategic business decisions, including business growth. You love learning new therapy areas, working in a cross functional environment creating strong collaborations and engaging with senior leadership.QualificationsBA/BS required10+ years strategic consulting experience in Pharma / Biotech / Medical Device industry or relevant experiencePrior experience in a global strategic forecasting role, in-market categories, neurodegeneration experience preferredStrong business acumen & communication skills and ability to work with and present to senior executivesGreat strategic problem-solving skills, leading structured thinking around complex problems to enable data-driven decision-makingExperience in global markets; understanding of local market dynamics and data sourcesHighly collaborative; must be able to navigate, manage the needs and drive effective partnerships with individuals and teams across the organization.Preferred SkillsMBA/MS/PhD in Life Sciences, Bioengineering, Engineering, Mathematics or StatisticsExperience in neurodegeneration or neuroscienceExperience working in alliance assetsKnowledge and proficiency in forecast modeling platforms and tools. Excel proficiency is required. Previous use of patient flow or related complex models.Curiosity about how to leverage innovative technologies for forecastingExperience using secondary dataExperience managing competitive intelligence or market research projectsJob Level: ManagementAdditional InformationThe base compensation range for this role is: $186,000.00-$256,000.00Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.In addition to compensation, Biogen offers a full and highly competitive range of benefits designed to support our employees’ and their families physical, financial, emotional, and social well-being; including, but not limited to:
