Working here means you’ll get to apply your skills and experience to real world issues, make a difference, and broaden your skills and knowledge in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined environment.About the roleWe’re looking for a Director for our Finance, Evaluation, and Economics group to join our Wellington or Auckland office.As Director, your role is a combination of being a senior leader and role model in the firm, leading our team of leaders and consultants to deliver finance, economic and evaluation services, and driving business performance, quality delivery of work and growth strategies for those services. This includes leading efforts to build client relationships and win new business for MartinJenkins. You will be a skilled practitioner in your own right, with a reputation as being top of your game amongst our clients and stakeholders.This permanent, full-time role, based in either Wellington or Auckland, is a rare opportunity to practice your technical craft and lead a high performing consultancy.We are looking for people with:
- Excellent judgement, empathy, and strong communication skills
- Experience working as a consultant
- Knowledge of how the public sector operates
- People leadership experience, preferably as a leader of leaders
- Applied background in a discipline such as economics, financial management, public finance, or economic development
- Ability to interact credibly with senior leaders in client organisations
- Strong project management skills
- A collaborative and effective team player
- Strong empathy for upholding values of tikanga Māori
- Tertiary qualification in economics, business, public policy, finance, law or similar fields.
