Job DescriptionThe position plays a key role in evaluating, prioritizing, and implementing business development transactions across Sobi. This individual will support cross-functional projects and transactions within Business Development both globally and regionally. This role will have a heavy due diligence focus, while providing project and alliance management support. Additional responsibilities include leading regional level business development transactions as needed. This individual will report directly into the VP, Business Development and Alliance Management based in the USA but will support transaction strategies set by Sobi globally.Remote – US Eastern Time Zone

  • Liase with Strategy & Corporate Development team members to coordinate due diligence activities following initial evaluation and through all business development discussions
  • Lead and own global cross-functional due diligence processes for in-licensing, out-licensing, distribution, and M&A opportunities; coordinate all internal and external resources; establish key value-drivers for business case and contracting efforts; manage the daily dialogue with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain internal and external due diligence database activities on assigned projects
  • Support agenda development, meeting management, and content support for business development lead
  • Lead effort to build and update company capabilities presentations and executive presentation requirements as needed
  • Ability to be strategic and prioritize key projects to deliver with optimal impact; Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, influence, and manage cross-functional projects and teams with multiple diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills with the capability to appropriately define, frame, and summarize issues, questions, and data; to perform accurate risk assessment and analysis; and to think creatively about different ways to analyze data and information
  • Ability to negotiate internally with stakeholders at all levels as well as with external resources and counterparts
  • Ability to establish logical flow and key points to realize objectives with excellent verbal and written presentation skills
  • Ability to be a thought partner to teams across the business
  • Ability to handle confidential information and data with the utmost care and demonstration of highest ethical standards
  • Domestic and international travel up to 20%

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent. MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 – 7 years of pharmaceutical/medical industry experience and/or highly related experience in consulting, investment banking, or private equity investing
  • Due Diligence expertise, experience, and process knowledge
  • Negotiation experience
  • Strong project management skills and understanding of key project management tools utilized
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Project Management tools (e.g. Smartsheet) required

Additional InformationThe base salary pay range for this role is $175,000-$235,000 annually. Actual pay for this position will take into account factors such as experience and location.
