Job description: Role DescriptionThe Deputy Head of Analysis and Testing has responsibility of high standard individual and project client delivery, supporting others to deliver and improving how we deliver to our clients.To fulfil this role, the Deputy Head of Analysis and Testing must have a solid understanding of FNZ’s SDLC and Agile practices, FNZ platform capabilities and be a supportive ambassador of the Solution Centre, FNZ values and objectives and a passion for high quality and on time delivery.They must have the ability to deliver to a high standard to our customers, identify best processes and methodologies within Analysis and Testing, work on effectively implementing them, collaborate with the Head of Analysis and Testing as a team to achieve the agreed goals and objectives.The Deputy Head of Analysis and Testing is also fulfilling the traditional leadership role, supporting the Head of Analysis and Testing in managing as required Analyst Testers within the Solution Centre and activities that include: recruitment, onboarding, training and mentoring, performance management, well-being, quality of work and soft and hard skills and ensuring a high level of collaboration and communication is maintained with the rest of the regional delivery team.They are results-driven individuals with sound experience in FNZ products and processes who are and want to be role-models, inspire and motivate others, delegate and empower, and are passionate about putting the right processes and strategies in place to meet our clients’ expectations, align our team’s goals and objectives to the company’s goals and bring wellbeing into our delivery teams.The key activities through which these are to be achieved are:High standard client deliveryTraining & coaching teams to reach their full potential and meet project and team (Analysis & Testing) KPIs and deliver high quality.Driving process improvements within the Analysis & Testing team and Delivery aiming to improve quality and increase effectiveness and productivity.Effectively managing Analyst Tester Leads & supporting the Head of Analysis & Testing.Specific Role ResponsibilitiesAdditional responsibilities in addition to that of the Principal Analyst Tester, outlined below.Training and Coaching

  • Assists with hiring processes, decision making and new team members training and onboarding.
  • Develops strategies and supports their implementation to promote team member adherence to company and team regulations and performance goals.
  • Liaises with team members, management, and clients to ensure projects are completed to standard and provide/support training where required.
  • Analyses existing processes actively working on making them more effective, proactively scheduling training sessions and meetings to discuss improvements.
  • Communicates team goals and identifies areas for new training, helping the team to deliver skillset focused training.
  • Identifies risks and develops or suggests contingency plans as soon as possible.

Driving process improvements

  • Working together with the Lead Analyst Testers, Principal Analyst Testers and Head of Analysis and Testing to identify and implement Delivery process improvements aimed at improving quality and productivity.
  • They will innovate both at a project level and within the wider Analysis and Testing community where possible by driving forward continuous improvements.
  • They will focus on key aspects of the Analyst Tester role and ensure the processes, key actors and their responsibility are clearly defined, and processes are followed diligently.
  • Generate and share comprehensive and detailed reports about team performance, mission-related objectives and deadlines.
  • Support the Head of Analysis & Testing in decision making, goals and objectives setting and related activities.

Quality Control for Analysis and Testing:

  • Directly input or support the Head of Analysis and Testing to input into SDLC processes including but not limited to engagement with developers, architecture, testing and documentation standards.
  • Actively promote knowledge sharing within the team and help to facilitate an internal training regime.
  • Support the Head of Analysis and Testing to ensure the team is aware and correctly uses the testing framework that aligns to the FNZ testing strategy and SDLC.
  • Implement or support the Head of Analysis and Testing to implement and deliver appropriate analysis and testing measurements and metrics.

People Leadership

  • Responsible for leading and day-to-day running of a team of Lead Analyst Testers, Senior Analyst Testers Analyst Testers, Principal Analyst Testers and ensuring that individuals have the skills and capabilities to succeed within a delivery focused environment.
  • Support the Head of Analysis and Testing to implement knowledge sharing and training regime for the Analysis and Testing team aligned with the approach taken in other solution centres.
  • Effectively manage other Analyst Testers as required providing them encouragement and guidance, supporting them with their team management issues and concerns.
  • Listen to team members’ feedback and help resolve any issues or conflicts, escalating as required to the Head of Analysis and Testing.
  • Conduct team meetings to update the Lead Analyst Testers and the wider team on best practices and expectations
  • Support, mentor and develop more junior members of the team (direct or indirect reports) to build a fully functional and highly effective team.

Experience required

  • Business Analysis and Testing knowledge · Knowledge of SDLC, Agile and delivery methodologies
  • Excellent team communication skills, confidence in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational, administration and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership and strong interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Proactive, results-oriented, supportive leader, able to take initiative in a delivery-focused environment.
  • Financial markets and products knowledge
  • ISTQB Foundation or Business Analysis Foundation Certificate (or equivalent)
  • SQL Knowledge.
  • Experience in JIRA/X-Ray, Analysis and Project Management tools would be a plus.
