We are a dedicated team, committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of our customers and communities.Position Summary:The Deposit Operations Support Specialist will perform a variety of duties related to deposit operations, including reviewing, processing, and updating daily work. This position provides guidance to branches and internal departments with routine to moderately complex inquiries. Initiative and accuracy are required in this role, as well as an understanding of regulatory requirements and risk operations to minimize potential loss.Key Responsibilities:

  • Processes daily overdraft and exceptions items.
  • Processes chargeback transactions.
  • Places cash orders with the Federal Reserve.
  • Processes ACH files and ACH disputes.
  • Provides support for deposit maintenance requests and account research.
  • Processes and reviews daily ACH activity related to death notifications, invalid prenotations, reclamations, returns, and notifications of change.
  • Processes daily return deposited items.
  • Processes Fed adjustments.
  • Prepares and submits IOLTA monthly to the North Carolina Bar.
  • Reviews daily reconciliation and resolves outstanding transactions.
  • Reviews reports associated with deposit account activity, which include all new deposits and time accounts opened, dormant accounts, stop payments, closed accounts, charged-off accounts, and new cards ordered.
  • Documents all exceptions to new deposit and time accounts in SharePoint Tracking. Ensures accounts that do not meet the required timeframe are closed.
  • Reports charge-off accounts to ChexSystems.
  • Completes asset verification requests received from LexisNexis Risk.
  • Processes returned mail.
  • Provides debit card support to include customer support for business, consumer, and HSA debit cards, completes debit card maintenance, transaction reviews, and account research.
  • Processes and manages the life cycle of debit card disputes.
  • Reviews documentation and account paperwork for completeness and accuracy.
  • Performs document administration tasks to file, safe keep, image, and audits documents as needed.
  • Prepares appropriate customer correspondence and notices.
  • Assists management with special projects.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Opens/manages cases with vendors.
  • Adheres specifically to all Bank policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, and laws.
  • Performs other duties as required.

RequirementsGeneral Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-5 years’ experience in a financial institution, preferably in a problem-solving, customer service-based role or operational services area.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting, balancing principles, and bank operations.
  • Knowledge and thorough understanding of financial terminology, bank operations, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience with Jack Henry products. Familiarity with federal and state banking regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and Electronic Funds Transfer Act, is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with Jack Henry products will be a plus.
  • Demonstrated technology skills, including intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in operational transactions, detect errors, and follow through with corrective action. Must have the ability to embrace change.
  • Ability to research, resolve problems, and meet deadlines.

Physical & Mental Demands:Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend and lift up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to work the days and hours required to fulfill the essential functions of the position. Quick thinking, adaptability, and exercise discretion when necessary.
