This is our digital VISION for BASF.In our SCOTT Solutions unit, you will support our customers on complex IT application topics in sustainability and directly contribute to BASF’s strategic path towards net zero.From the beginning you will be responsible of solving practical challenges that our internal partners face using state-of-the-art technology and methods.The team has a portfolio of solutions in productive use as well as in development. The technology setup is a BASF private azure with Kubernetes hosting containerized web applications written in python and java script.Responsibilities

• Implement database models & architecture
• Data integration & quality assurance
• Monitor, test and improve database performance
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines
• Develop according to modern coding, security and tool standards
• Development of new applications, but also operations and maintenance
• Have an eye on technical innovations and evaluate them in terms of their usefulness for the team
• Work in a self-organized way within a small team and collaborate across different solutions

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or in a comparable field
• Minimum 3 years related working experience in IT or database development
• Expertise in SQL Databases (Postgres or HANA preferred)
• Experience in building ETL/data integration pipelines
• Knowledge of CI/CD DevOps framework and version control systems (for example GIT)
• Interest in understanding the business background and creating sustainable applications together with the internal business partner
• Familiarity with Github Copilot
• Ability to communicate clearly in English
• Team player with high willingness to learn, a positive attitude, as well as experience working in global and diverse teams
