Job description: On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Database Developer (Oracle/.Net) to join our Client’s team on a 6-month Contract basis. This role is Hybrid (Monday and Thursday onsite) and the Client is based in Burnaby, BC.Summary of the Role
The Database Developer will design, develop, and optimize database systems to support business operations. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performance solutions aligned with organizational objectives.Duties & Responsibilities
- Design stable, reliable, and effective database systems.
- Modify and optimize databases, conduct testing, and resolve issues to meet performance requirements.
- Maintain legacy database systems for optimal performance and availability.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to gather requirements and establish best practices.
- Provide technical support, respond to inquiries, and assist with training materials.
Core Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Oracle database development or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in:
- Data analytics programming (e.g., SAS, R, Java, Python).
- SQL database queries, Tableau, Power BI, data modeling, and analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in .Net Framework, JavaScript, HTML, Oracle, and Postgres SQL.
- Expertise in database tuning, performance monitoring, and data recovery.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience with web application development.
- Strong knowledge of data security, monitoring, and software development.
- Familiarity with developing dashboards and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of project management principles, including cost/benefit analysis.
Terms
The initial contract term is six months, ending on June 30, 2025, with standard working hours of 7.5 hours per day. This role requires hybrid work, with in-office attendance on Mondays and Thursdays at the Burnaby location.
