Job description: Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our IT team in Muscat, Oman. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Hadoop, and other open-source databases, along with a solid background in database architecture, high availability solutions, and production support environments.Responsibilities:Architect and implement integrations with new/existing database server setups.Drive SQL Server and PostgreSQL best practices in collaboration with Security, Network, and Windows teams.Provide 24×7 production support and on-call support for PostgreSQL and other database platforms.Coordinate incident response with various technical teams for major incidents.Configure high-availability solutions: Always On, Log Shipping, Mirroring, Replication, Clustering.Lead regular Disaster Recovery drills to ensure system readiness.Apply security patches and hotfixes in accordance with company policies and Microsoft quarterly updates.Perform database server installations and upgrades following IT standards.Requirements:Minimum 7 years of overall IT experience.At least 5 years of experience in database administration.Minimum 3 years supporting open-source databases like PostgreSQL, Hadoop, and MongoDB.Strong knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery solutions.Experience with production environments and critical support scenarios.Familiarity with database performance tuning and security best practices.Excellent coordination and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Certifications in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Microsoft SQL Server.Experience in cloud-based database environments.Prior work experience in large-scale enterprise setups.Powered by JazzHR
