As a Data Quality Analyst, you’ll play a crucial role in improving and embedding data quality and governance processes across Compare the Market. Using your SQL expertise, you’ll work with stakeholders across the business to identify, analyse, and resolve data quality issues, ensuring our data is accurate, consistent, and fit for purpose.This role is all about refining and enhancing existing data quality practices, ensuring we have the right monitoring, validation, and governance processes in place to maintain high standards. You’ll collaborate closely with teams across Data, Tech, and Business Operations to embed data quality into day-to-day decision-making.Some of the great things you’ll be doing:
- Improving Data Quality Processes – Work with teams to identify weaknesses in data quality processes and suggest practical improvements.
- Data Validation & Monitoring – Use SQL to create quality checks, reports, and alerts, ensuring our data remains accurate and consistent.
- Root Cause Analysis – Investigate data quality issues, working with stakeholders to understand causes and implement fixes.
- Embedding Data Governance Practices – Support the adoption of data governance processes, ensuring compliance with best practices and internal policies.
- Maintaining Data Governance – Maintaining the data governance work by supporting/managing the data catalogue, business glossary and metadata assets
- Stakeholder Engagement – Act as a trusted advisor for teams across the business, helping them understand and resolve data quality challenges.
- Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities to automate, refine, and scale data quality monitoring and governance processes.
- Collaboration – Work closely with Data Owners, Engineers, and Analysts to align on data quality expectations and reporting standards.
What we’d like to see from you:
- Proficiency in SQL – Hands-on experience writing queries for data validation, anomaly detection, and quality monitoring.
- Experience improving data quality processes – A background in data validation, governance, or data cleansing.
- Understanding of Data Governance Principles – Awareness of data ownership, policies, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills – Ability to identify patterns, troubleshoot data issues, and recommend solutions.
- Strong communication & stakeholder management – Ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams, translating data quality insights into action.
- Experience working with large datasets – Ability to analyze, clean, and process complex datasets efficiently.
- Proactive and detail-oriented mindset – A passion for driving improvements in data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
