Job description: About the positionWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Security [Engineer] to join our dynamic team. As a Data Security Leader, you will play a key role in supporting secure development, deployment, and maintenance of our security platform. You will collaborate with development teams to understand their requirements and work on various aspects of our platform and infrastructure, including Microsoft SQL, Alteryx Gallery, Tableau Server, network storage, Sharepoint, as well as cloud applications such as AWS EC2, FSx, Redshift, AWS Console and Cloudwatch. SecurityDevelop and champion the team’s data security strategy, aligned with overall business objectives and the specific needs of the data analytics team.Contribute to the design, development, documentation and maintenance of security protocols and data policies.Support and provide guidance to the data analytics team on secure data handling practices, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.Build and foster a culture of security awareness and responsibility.Collaborate with other departments (e.g., D&P, legal, compliance) to ensure a holistic approach to data security.Represent the organization’s data security posture to internal and external stakeholders.Implement and manage data access controls, including role-based and schema-based access control, to restrict access to sensitive data based on user roles and data attributes.Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data encryption solutions, both in transit and at rest, to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access.Establish and enforce data loss prevention (DLP) policies and procedures to prevent sensitive data from leaving the organization’s control.Manage vulnerability scanning and penetration testing programs to identify and remediate security weaknesses in data systems.Monitor data security systems and logs to detect and respond to security incidents.Implement and manage security information and event management systems to collect and analyze security logs.Ensure secure data storage and backup practices are followed.Data Risk Management:Conduct regular data risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential threats to data security.Develop and implement data risk mitigation strategies to reduce the likelihood and impact of data breaches.Establish and maintain a data risk register to track and manage identified risks.Report on data risk posture to senior management.Collaborate with the data analytics team to integrate security considerations into data analytics projects.Develop and maintain incident response plans for data breaches and security incidents.Data Policy & Compliance:Help develop and maintain data security policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR) and industry best practices.Ensure data privacy and compliance requirements are met.Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees on data security policies and best practices.Conduct as needed audits to ensure compliance with data security policies and regulations.Provide guidance to the data analytics team on secure data handling practices, including data anonymization, pseudonymization, and differential privacy techniques.Develop and implement security requirements for data analytics platforms and tools.Support the data analytics team in the development of secure data sharing agreements with external partners.Security and User Management:Manage application security settings and configurations for MS SQL Server, Alteryx Gallery, and Tableau Server environments.Monitor application performance and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.Troubleshoot application issues and provide support to analytics team.Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within Active Directory, MS SQL, Tableau Server and Alteryx Gallery.Create and maintain user groups and distribution lists.Ensure compliance with security policies and access control procedures.Provide user support for access-related issues.What We Look For:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,or equivalent work experience.Proven experience in administering MS SQL Server, Alteryx Gallery, and Tableau Server.Strong understanding of Active Directory administration.Knowledge of security models, schema permissions and data policies.Experience with scripting languages (e.g., SQL) is a plus.Knowledge of data analytics concepts and tools.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Required
