Job description: The ACMA have an exciting opportunity for an EL 1 Assistant Manager to the lead the Data Governance Capability stream within the broader Data Governance Section. In this role you would join a section that is comprised of people who are passionate about what they do, value what each other bring to the section, and enjoy a laugh.As the Data Governance Capability Lead, you will lead a small team to develop and execute strategies to get commitment and action from across the ACMA on various data governance initiatives. You will work with Data Stewards to help them understand their data assets through various mechanisms and work with people from varying technical backgrounds to adopt data frameworks and policies.We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Governance professional who has:

• Demonstrated experience leading a team made up of various skillsets across data and/or information governance/policy.
• Strong written and verbal communication style that can confidently present messages in a clear, concise, and articulate manner.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering initiatives to uplift data/information culture and capabilities of an organisation.
• Knowledge of APS Data reforms, Australian Data and Digital Strategy, and more broadly data governance.
• Demonstrated experience in Whole of Australian Government frameworks, legislation and policies that influence data governance and management.
• Strong technical aptitude and experience in using productivity tools such as SharePoint.
