We really are a company that wants to make a positive difference.He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the roleYour responsibility is to help the business solve problems and make informed decisions using large, complex data sets. This role involves ensuring Watercare has access to quality and secure data, and growing our dataset in line with business requirements. Additionally, you will identify and migrate new data sources, improve data collection methods, and enhance data quality analysis and reporting processes. Your role specifically involves driving data quality and stewardship by evaluating internal systems for efficiency, identifying problems and inaccuracies, and developing protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you

  • Tertiary level qualification in an appropriate discipline
  • Experience with one or more ETL tools, e.g. ADF, Talend, Step functions etc.
  • Scripting skills – advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with databases, query authoring and working knowledge of variety of databases, e.g. SQL Server, Redshift, PostgreSQL.
  • Scripting skills in SQL and Python
  • Familiar with cloud environments i.e. AWS/Azure
  • Recognised and relevant technology industry qualifications
  • Experience working in agile methodology
  • Follows and implements best practices for ETL/Data Engineering processes and Database management
  • Follows and implements best practices for ETL/Data
  • Working on Data lakes
  • Experience in; Snowflake, AWS, Azure, ADF, terraform
  • Understanding of CI/CD deployments principles
