As part of ING’s commitment to sustainable growth, we are building the ESG Policies and Instructions team within the Global COO Risk Services Organization and are seeking an ESG Policy Expert to join us. You will play a crucial part in the team by actively working on ESG programs for the bank and work with domain experts, and implementation teams across different business lines (Wholesale Banking, Business Banking, and Retail Banking) to bring together and analyze all ESG-related documents, including policies, procedures, manuals and guidelines and develop a comprehensive dashboard outlining the obligations from these documents for senior management team and the countries to steer ESG initiatives. You will serve as the central lead working very closely with the ESG Policy owners, acting as the key link between the central ESG team within the group and other ING countries. On a daily basis, you will support the lead manager and participate in multiple ESG content discussions with the internal teams across COO, CRO domains and other ING countries, identifying strategic product priorities in line with regulatory commitments and managing the development of these priorities within the ESG program. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with ESG capability owners, acting as the key link between the global ESG team and ING countries. Gather and analyze all ESG-related documents, including policies, procedures, manuals and guidelines. Develop a comprehensive dashboard outlining the obligations from these documents, providing a centralized and unified view to all stakeholders. Coordinate the submission and approval of ESG policies and mandatory instructions with the appropriate governance body. Develop a communication and implementation plan for the policies and mandatory instructions. Coordinate and monitor newly implemented ESG policies and instructions across various ING locations, providing continuous feedback and recommendations for improvement. Consistently monitor all relevant ESG policies, regulatory changes, and implementation gaps to keep ESG policies up to date. Key Capabilities/Experience Commitment to learning new ESG concepts, regulations, and industry best practices in a fast-paced environment. Desire to build knowledge in credit and ESG rating methodologies. Ability to translate policy requirements into implementation plans. Ability to work data-driven and provide insights based on relevant ESG indicators, with curiosity and drive to stay updated on sustainability trends. Self-motivated with a strong focus on action, results, and continuous improvement. Strong individual contributor with intellectual curiosity and ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders. Excel in dynamic environments with strong analytical skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and good writing and communication skills. Good presentation skills, able to present topics clearly and succinctly to various audiences. Exceptional coordination and project management skills. Proven ability to work cross-functionally, manage competing interests, and deliver strategic projects efficiently. Genuine team player achieving objectives through close collaboration with people from diverse disciplines and backgrounds, including technology, data, content operations, and client services. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in related discipline (business, economics, legal, environment and/or social sciences) or Bachelor’s degree with the equivalent, relevant experience. At least 3+ years of relevant work experience within financial sector is preferred At least 2+ years of work experience in a regulatory compliance function is a plus Fluent in written and spoken English. Willing to work at One Ayala Tower, Makati City Willing to work in a hybrid setup (50% onsite) Willing to work mid-shift (only if needed)
