Status: ContractorJoin Our TeamJoin our dedicated Critical Incident Support team at TELUS Health, where your expertise will be pivotal in providing on-site counseling and consultation to organizations following traumatic worksite events. As an essential member of our network, you will assist clients in navigating the aftermath of incidents, delivering expert support and interventions to foster recovery and resilience. This role offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on individuals and organizations during their most critical moments.The Impact You’ll Make and What We’ll Accomplish TogetherJoin us as an independent contractor, where your expertise will be essential in supporting your local community. Due to the nature of the service, you should be prepared to accept referrals on short notice. You will provide immediate support during unexpected workplace events such as accidents and employee deaths, and manage anticipated changes like organizational restructuring. Your role will involve offering timely assistance to frontline employees and managers through pre- and post-incident planning, briefings, and reporting. Together, we will promote community wellbeing by helping organizations maintain resilience and ensure continuity during critical moments.Here’s HowPerform a preliminary assessment of the workplace situation and offer coaching and support to managers.Implement post-traumatic interventions, including individual debriefings and group counselling, in the event of a critical incident.Manage the first impression onsite while adapting to the workplace culture to ensure the support provided is representative of the client group.Consult with the CI Supervisor and relevant stakeholders as needed.QualificationsEducation and Training:Master’s Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.Active membership with a professional college or governing board in Canada.Minimum five (5) years of post-master’s clinical experience.Completion of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) training or equivalent.Experience and Skills:Required experience in conducting group debriefing and defusing support.Strong interpersonal awareness and exceptional first impression skills.In-depth knowledge of different work environments and organizational structures.Flexible schedule, with the ability to accept referrals on minimal notice.Adaptability to various settings, including corporate and manufacturing environments.Prepared for unpredictable scenarios, with availability to accept referrals on short notice.Profound understanding of trauma, its symptoms, and the ability to offer psychoeducation and address related questions.Proficiency in facilitating both group and one-on-one interactions.Experience in supporting first responders.Background in either academic or practical training.Experience as first responders or in peer counseling.Why Choose TELUS HealthPositive work environment that prioritizes diversity and inclusion.Integration into a growing and continuously expanding professional network.Enhanced visibility and credibility of your professional profile.Flexible scheduling to manage client caseloads at your convenience.Access to clinical supervision, networking, and development opportunities.Structured semi-monthly billing & payment, including no-show/cancellation coverage.A bit about usWe’re a people-focused, customer-first, purpose-driven team who works together every day to innovate and do good.
