As the Credit and Collections Specialist, the day-to-day duties include; Invoice management, processing payments, data entry, collections and communicating with customers – just to name a few. Strong communication and attention to detail skills are an asset.Advantages

– Receive & check bills of lading and invoices and modify where necessary for freight, set-up charges, containers etc.
– Post invoices to G/L and process payments against customer accounts.
– Create non-stock invoices from sales orders for tooling or miscellaneous charges.
– Investigate short payments and debit memo. Obtain backups, issues credits and email to correct plants.
– Follow-up on overdue accounts via phone / email, involved the Sales Representative for any unresolved payments.
– Maintain paperwork pertaining to RMA’s, plant discrepancy reports and return shipments until such time as required for processing.
– Verify all bills of lading are invoiced before closing at month end and that all deposits for the month balance G/L cash postings.
– Should be able to show a deeper understanding of AR reports and generate exception reporting and highlight/escalate concern areas.
– Print summary of exports for the period and email to Stats Canada.
– Process cheques to pay & payable invoices to freight and brokerage vendors.
– Assist Controller and VP of Finance with any special projects.
– Proficiency in Excel is desired. Maintain Customer Master file.
– Other duties as required.Qualifications
The duties for the Credit and Collections Specialist will include:
– Must have 2+ years in A/R, collections and customer service by phone.
– Must have experience working in a manufacturing environment dealing with accounts receivable.
– Must have accurate data entry skills and proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
– Strong communication and customer service skills.
– Self-starter, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Summary
