Job description: The German Swiss International School (GSIS) is one of Hong Kong’s leading international schools providing quality, holistic education to a multinational student body of approximately 1300 students and 240 faculty and staff. The school is organised into two Streams, German and English leading to qualifications in the German International Abitur and I/GCSE & IBDP respectively. We are inviting applications for the following position commencing in August 2025.The Creativity Hub Leader works to create a space for students to engage in innovative, creative learning experiences which enrich their learning in the English and German Primary curricula. In collaboration with the Heads of Department (EPD & GPD) s/he will create a strategic action plan for the development of the Creativity Hub space and integration into the curricula, which will determine the focus and priorities for the year ahead.Responsibilities:Developing and managing the space
- Plan, prepare and implement the vision for the development of the Creativity Hub space.
- Manage the Creativity Hub annual budget.
- Procure items for the Creativity Hub to meet the needs of the students and faculty in EPD & GPD.
- Manage the day-to-day operation and use of the Creativity Hub, including scheduling, maintenance, resource management.
- Ensure that all equipment is operated in a safe and appropriate manner.
Leading Learning
- Develop and promote the vision for the Creativity Hub to enrich learning through problem solving, design thinking, and hands on experiences.
- Develop a relevant, challenging and engaging Creativity programme to support and enrich learning and meet the curriculum objectives for EPD and GPD students
- Plan and teach collaboratively with faculty in EPD and GPD, facilitating problem solving, design thinking and hands on learning experiences.
- To offer ECAs that make use of learning experiences available in the Creativity Hub
- To teach students from age 6 to 11
What is required and what we’re looking for:
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, state examination, or equivalent) in Primary Education
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience
- Excellent English speaker with sound written and oral communication skills. German language skills desirable.
- Detailed knowledge of relevant aspects of the English Primary, and German Primary Curriculum.
- Secure subject knowledge in relevant subject areas
- Experience of teaching conceptual inquiry and design processes
- Clear understanding of current educational issues, theory and practice
- Experience in working collaboratively with a team
- Culturally sensitive, tolerant and patient
- Positive work ethic and proactive
- Experience in an international context is desirable
