  • Lead and collaborate on cost recovery initiatives.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, provide strategic advice, and support financial management to ensure effective cost recovery. Drive financial analysis and reporting.
  • Analyse variances, update revenue forecasts, and prepare high-quality briefs and reports for senior management and industry committees.
  • Promote a client-focused culture: Foster collaboration across government agencies and industry, support change management, and develop cost recovery literacy materials.

The Finance and Investment Division supports the department to be efficient, effective and financially sustainable. The division provides strategic financial advice and support to the department, the offices of the minister and to industry stakeholders. The division delivers on business objectives by partnering with the department, providing high quality customer service, advice and support and a nationally consistent approach to business, with consideration to the government’s fiscal environment, its significant reform agenda and the department’s imperative to maintain financial sustainability.The Funding and Revenue branch is the ‘policy’ arm of Finance Division. Our work requires public service professionals in administrative, policy and financial roles that come together under the leadership of our directors. Our work is often high profile and we often get to engage directly with the department’s external stakeholders including industry, representative groups and our Ministers.The Exports Cost Recovery section designs and manages cost recovery arrangements for exports regulatory activities. The team is a critical business enabler for service delivery in the portfolio with more than 40 percent of the department’s revenue sourced from cost recovered activities. The team also provides advice and costing support for new policy proposals which may be considered for future cost recovery.The Job
Key Duties:

  • Report and provide insights on cost recovery arrangements to stakeholders.
  • Provide secretariat functions for finance committees.
  • Collaborate with program areas to analyse financial data and update forecasts.
  • Assist with the annual CRIS review cycle.
  • Support cost recovery initiatives across exports and biosecurity.
  • Develop and communicate cost recovery literacy materials.

Key Tasks:

  • Analyse variances in expenses and revenue.
  • Prepare high-quality briefs and reports for senior management and industry committees.
  • Provide input into parliamentary briefs and improvement projects.
  • Resolve cost allocation matters.
  • Foster collaboration with internal budgets, ABC, program and business partner teams.
  • Maintain effective communication and support change management.
