Job description: Our client is seeking an experienced Cost Controller to support complex projects with high-value or non-standard requirements. In this role, you will lead cost estimating, analysis, and control functions, preparing detailed cost studies, monitoring trends, and implementing effective cost management strategies. Your insights will drive innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges, ensuring project performance, compliance and value.Benefits:

• 6 Month contract

Essential qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) with 8-10 years’ relevant experience, or 12-14 years without a degree
• Proven experience in project cost engineering, including control, reporting, and analysis on complex projects
• Strong understanding of cost management processes across engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present cost data clearly to management and clients
• Must have full working rights in Australia without employer sponsorship

Duties and responsibilities:

• Lead non-routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities across complex project scopes
• Develop and maintain accurate cost reports, budgets, and forecasting tools in line with project standards
• Coordinate implementation of cost control systems, reporting standards, and performance monitoring
• Gather, classify, and analyze cost data to support budgeting, estimating, and decision-making processes
• Identify and communicate cost trends or variances, providing recommendations to management
• Prepare cost studies using historical data, statistical methods, and cost/quantity comparisons
