Job description: The Cost Accountant will play a critical role in supporting operations and the overall accounting team and business. This permanent position is with an industrial manufacturing and service business based in Santa Barbara and is ideal for a professional who excels in core accounting, cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

• As the Cost Accountant you will manage and oversee cost accounting functions, budgeting, forecasting, P&L work, and general ledger work.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and analysis for management review.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulations.
• Analyze financial data and trends to support strategic decision-making processes.
• Assist with month end close and GL reconciliations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Assist with budget preparation and monitoring to ensure financial objectives are met.
• Assist with audit queries and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
• Support internal controls and implement best practices to safeguard company assets.

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, accounting software, and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Cost analysis and accounting from a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of modeling, budgets, and forecasting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and industry standards.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments.
