- Month end close process including preparation of journal entries, expense/accrual analysis and variance analysis
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensure reconciling items are resolved timely
- Experience with financial analysis, such as explaining Balance Sheet and P&L fluctuations
- Ability to multitask, stay organized and perform the monthly book close timely and in accordance with company policy
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting/ US GAAP accounting principles
- Strong documentation mindset: thorough and clear support to maintain good audit trail
- Effective and proactive communication
- liaising with cross functional teams to ensure proper accruals are recorded & ensure that appropriate supporting documentation is maintained
- effectively raise questions/concerns to manager
- Ability to think critically: thoughtful analysis, ability to investigate and explain variances, dig into problems
- Analytical mindset – understanding processes and suggesting enhancements
- Detail – oriented, ability to work independently
- Oracle ERP experience preferred (or related system)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in commerce or Masters
- 4-6 years of hands-on experience in General Accounting processes and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
