The Finance and Business Services Group, or FaBS as we like to call them, is the engine room of REA Group. The team is comprised of Finance, Risk, Workplace & Procurement, Pricing, Customer Collections, Payments, Group Reporting, Corporate Comms, Corporate Development, Strategy and Investor Relations.The Corporate Development team assists REA Group and its business units to develop, define and evolve their partnership and inorganic growth strategies to meet the overall Group’s aspiration of profitable growth. Key responsibilities of the team include identifying, assessing, executing and portfolio managing potential corporate transactions, and negotiating strategic partnerships, for REA Group.You will play a hands-on role in the assessment and execution of corporate investment activity including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic investments, commercial partnerships, divestitures and portfolio management.What the role is all aboutMonitor offshore and domestic markets and product segments including competitor and peer activityAssist with proactively identifying potential commercial partners and acquisition/investment targets, as well as proactive portfolio review and managementInvestigate, assess and respond to inbound enquiry as it relates to M&A and investment activityAssess the viability and financial / strategic implications of potential M&A and commercial partnership opportunitiesExecute potential corporate transactions and commercial partnerships, including playing a lead role in key work streams such as financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, documentation and integrationWho we’re looking forDemonstrated experience in investment banking (Senior Analyst or Associate level) or similar Corporate Finance/Advisory or Transaction Services experience, and / or internal Corporate Development positionsStrong research and analytical skillsProficiency developing detailed 3-way (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) financial models and valuations (including discounted cash flow valuations), and comparable company analysisExperience preparing presentations, and other bespoke analytics to support decision-makingFamiliarity with corporate finance execution from origination through to completion highly regardedHighly developed verbal and written communication skillsAbility to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritise effectively and meet deadlinesThe REA experienceThe physical, mental, emotional and financial health of our people is something we’ll never stop caring about.
