Job #4755- Terrific opportunity to get your foot in the door with a well-respected non-profit organization on a 20-month long-term contract! Our client is looking for an experienced Controller who can hit the ground running and help manage the finance and accounting function while leading a small team. This includes all the external and internal financial reporting requirements along with the preparation of the annual audited financial statements for the organization. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills and enjoys taking a hands-on approach with their management style. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the main responsibilities include:

• Ensure monthly financial statements are prepared timely and accurately
• Provide analysis for financial statements, financial reports, general ledger accounts and review monthly reconciliations and supporting papers
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and policies
• Cash management and treasury management
• Modify systems in response to audit findings and make recommendations as needed ensuring proper internal controls are in place
• Prepare reports for the Board of Directors
• Manage external audits
• Manage the finance staff and provide leadership and direction in regard to operational plans, objectives and priorities
• Develop strategic goals and objectives and make recommendations for policy direction and ways to increase efficiencies
• Other duties as required

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce or equivalent
• CPA designation preferred
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience including analysis and budgeting
• Previous supervisory experience required
• Good understanding of ASNPO
• Proficient in Excel
• Sage 300 experienced considered an asset
