Explore more on Cubic.com.Job Details:This role manages contract and related subcontract activities to ensure that all requirements and obligations are fulfilled. Tasks include day-to-day contract management activities and leading negotiations on contractual matters.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the Contracts and Subcontracts personnel and activities in New Zealand and other jurisdictions as required
- Conducts contract and subcontract formation and management activities on a wide range of contracts, from initial proposal through delivery and services (as relevant) and including closeout.
- Point of contact for customer contract personnel and internal project/services personnel and is responsible for all contract incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Supports monitoring and compliance with contract requirements, including any deliverables assigned to contracts team
- Resolves issues regarding contractual performance, including claims, changes, and terminations
- Contribute to and support the successful negotiation of contract proposals, including change orders in conjunction with program management and other internal Cubic teams
- Negotiates a variety of contractual documentation with customers, working directly with a cross-functional team in conducting negotiations to ensure contracts are of maximum benefit to Cubic
- collaborates with program management and services teams to develop effective strategies and recommendations to management for resolution of contractual issues
- Interacts with, confers, briefs, and makes recommendations to management regarding the progress and impact of potential contract and subcontract-related activities. Prepares contract and subcontract reviews and reports on issues
- Drafts contractual agreements and subcontracts; edits terms and conditions and flow-down requirements to subcontracts based on prime contracts consistent with company Legal and Contract policies
- Manages project related subcontracts to ensure compliance with terms, including schedule and scope of work. Responsible for all subcontract incoming and outgoing correspondence. Resolves issues regarding subcontractor performance, including claims, changes, and terminations
- Ensures contract and subcontract filing is managed effectively and accurate records are kept.
- Coordinates contract and subcontract requirements with all functional departments to ensure compliance.
- Observes all legal/ regulatory compliance requirements and practices for assigned responsibilities
- Remains current on legal/regulatory updates affecting contracts and agreements
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage contract-related documentation and processes and assist in the development and implementation of processes and procedure to support contracts
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, professional advisors, partners and suppliers
- Manage ad-hoc strategic projects as identified by the Contracts Director
- Ensure preparation and settlement of project invoicing, variations and other claims where required
- Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System
- Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures
- Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisations
- Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures
- Other duties as requested
Minimum Job Requirements:QualificationsHighly Desirable:
- Degree qualified or equivalent in a legal, technical or business-related discipline
Skills/Experience/KnowledgeEssential:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in contracts and subcontracts management
- Demonstrated ability in complex Contract Management for various types of contracts for both commercial and government customers, ranging in size
- Thorough knowledge of prime/subcontract formation and administration activities, and proven ability to effectively negotiate terms, conditions and price
- Ability to provide workable solutions to address a wide variety of contractual challenges.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Desirable:
- Experience in international contracts

- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels of the organisation
- Highly skilled in complex negotiations
- Able to prioritise workload and work under tight deadlines
- Able to travel domestically if required
