Reporting to the GM Operations, the Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for providing lean manufacturing support and driving a culture of continuous improvement within our client’s manufacturing plant to ensure maximum profitability and recovery of value from the manufacturing processes.
Your core tasks will also include:

• Identifying and prioritising opportunities for improvements, strategic opportunities for value capture.
• Assist with capital projects.
• Manage continuous improvement projects for plant optimisation and cost reduction.
• Assist with NPD commercialisation
• Support the team to drive continuous improvement in OEE.
• Utilising lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.

You, the Candidate:
As a suitable candidate for this role, you will bring previous experience identifying and driving lean manufacturing initiatives/ continuous improvement projects within a food or dairy manufacturing environment. You will also have shown your ability to lead and mentor a team and have strong technical knowledge of food safety and environmental management systems.In addition, the preferred candidate with have the following skills, experience, qualifications:

• Qualification in Engineering, Operations Management, Food Technology, Packaging Technology, or related fields.
• 5+ years’ experience across continuous improvement, project management, in a manufacturing environment.
• Food / Dairy / FMCG experience.
• Experience with food packaging, particularly MAP.
• Analytical and financial modelling skills.
• Strong capability in problem-solving and decision-making.
• People leadership experience can drive positive change through influencing & collaboration skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a multitasking environment.
• Stakeholder engagement and management.
• Able to permenantly relocate to Christchurch.
