This role will be responsible for food & beverage research & insights, for Musgrave’s retail brands including SuperValu, Centra and Donnybrook Fair on the Island of Ireland. However, as the needs of the business evolve, the role may also work on wholesale and other aspects of Musgrave.Work location is flexible, we have offices in Cork and Dublin. Work Smart hybrid work arrangement applies for this role. Frequent travel to CorkThe main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supporting the delivery of sales and profit growth for Musgrave, through world-class insight on ever-changing market and consumer needs.
  • Working with research partners and other sources to develop a clear picture of consumer sentiment & behaviour and consumer perception of our brands.
  • Gathering, collating, and interrogating insights from multiple sources into clear, simple, and actionable recommendations that enable Leadership Teams to make consumer-driven decisions.
  • Working collaboratively with relevant internal teams and stakeholders across Musgrave to ensure consumer insights are influencing our brands strategies and plans.
  • Contributing to and updating brand scorecards which track brand performance; consumer perceptions of our brand strategies; and other key business performance metrics. Optimising and managing brand tracking research.
  • Conducting research in the field as appropriate and understanding and advising on best research methodologies for each project.
  • Managing and optimising relationships with key external insights partners and research agencies.
  • Bringing innovative methodologies and fresh thinking to our research approach and challenging internal stakeholders and research partners alike.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with industry bodies to identify key industry and consumer trends and benchmarks ensuring we have a continual “outside-in learning” approach.
  • Managing budgets to ensure Musgrave is maximising research and insights spend while ensuring delivery of the best service.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • A 3rd level degree in a Marketing/Research or other relevant business discipline. A specialist research qualification will be of distinct advantage.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a senior insights role ideally within the Food, FMCG or Consumer Health industries.
  • Detailed knowledge of the latest research techniques and excellent analysis skills. Experience in research and questionnaire design, data analytics and report generation.
  • Ability to translate research data into clear insight which is easy to understand and actionable, demonstratable strategic and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of presenting research / data to internal stakeholders and senior management teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, influencing, facilitation and collaboration skills.
