  • Demonstrated expertise as a Configuration and Data Management (CDM) Specialist, with a proven ability to leverage influence and advanced technical skills to ensure the precise and effective implementation of CDM practices.
  • Extensive experience in collaborating with diverse stakeholders, providing strategic guidance, and maintaining the integrity and consistency of CDM processes.
  • Exceptional ability to foster cooperation and alignment among teams, ensuring all CDM activities meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Expertise and practical experience in implementing Configuration and Data Management practices in the development of complex systems.
  • Extensive experience with PTC Windchill software, Configuration Management Tool Unified (CMT-U), or other Enterprise Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Strong systems thinking skills and behaviours, with the ability to maintain process discipline in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of configuration management for both hardware and software configuration items
  • An Australian NV1 security clearance and ability to access/handle Export Controlled technology, data and information.

The Hobart Class Combat System (HCCS) is at the forefront of advanced naval technology and provides the strategic advantage for Defence.Based at Garden Island, you will join the broader Multi-Domain Combat System (MCDS) Team within LMA.In this role, you will provide strategic oversight and specialised technical support for Configuration and Data Management (CDM) activities, coordinating across multiple stakeholders through the following key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Maritime Integrated Warfare Systems (MIWS) and stakeholders across different programs to drive the development and implementation of the product baseline and identify future requirements and specialist tooling needs for the ongoing CDM solution.
  • Partner with MIWS to develop CDM plans and ensure that all activities are meticulously executed in accordance with these plans.
  • Provide expert assistance and strategic guidance to all stakeholders in the effective application of the CDM solution, demonstrating specialist knowledge, leadership, and influence throughout the process.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing mentorship and guidance to sustainment team members, fostering their development and ensuring adherence to best practices.
