Job description: Morgan McKinley is partnering exclusively with a Global FinTech as they search for a Compliance Manager to lead their Australian division. This role is suitable for candidates who enjoy working independently, owning processes end-to-end in a flexible, fast-paced environment.As Compliance Manager, you’ll be instrumental in delivering the compliance framework and ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations. You will also act as a Responsible Manager, safeguarding the operating licences and providing key updates to the Global Executive team.This is an excellent opportunity to own the Compliance function for Australia, build strong relationships locally with the regulators and auditors and be part of the businesses continued growth plans. The Head Office is based in the Sydney CBD, however you can choose your own working environment and be fully working from home if you wish!Responsibilities:
- Review and enhance AML/CTF processes, including client onboarding and ongoing transaction monitoring.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of the Compliance framework, ensuring alignment with legal, regulatory, and local policy requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulators, external consultants, and auditors, including managing AML/CTF audits.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, AFCA, law enforcement, and legal counsel.
- Oversee compliance with local product governance requirements, including the review and approval of new initiatives and products launched in Australia.
Requirements:
- Hold a tertiary degree in finance, economics, business or similar.
- 5+ years’ experience in a compliance role within the financial services sector, ideally with exposure to online money remittance, payments or currency exchange.
- Previously been a Responsible Manager.
- In-depth knowledge of the Australian legal and regulatory landscape, with the proven ability to interpret and apply legislations.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely.
- A proactive and solution-oriented approach, with a willingness to challenge the status quo and drive change.
Due to the global nature of the role, you will be required to communicate with your UK counterparts regularly. You will need to be able to accommodate a weekly call during the evening and be comfortable communicating virtually.
