Eligibility: Open to EveryoneThe OpportunityWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Lead to join the Department of Primary Industries and Regions’ Biosecurity Division.The role will be responsible for communications and engagement to support the implementation of the Biosecurity Act 2025. The role is responsible for the development, management and implementation of effective stakeholder communication and engagement strategies that value and facilitate stakeholder understanding, involvement and input.As a skilled, experienced professional, the Stakeholder Engagement Lead identifies engagement and consultation requirements in collaboration with relevant business units and leads engagement and consultation activities on complex and sensitive matters to ensure stakeholder awareness, understanding and involvement.With political acumen and a sound knowledge of the department and State Government’s strategic engagement framework, principles and practices, the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Lead quickly identifies appropriate engagement opportunities, risks, mitigations and solutions and is responsible for managing resources and strategies where external resources are utilised.About UsSouth Australia is internationally recognised for the quality of its agriculture, food, and wine.   • Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
  • Australian residency or current work permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
  • Opportunity up to June 2027.
  • Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.
  • You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations.
  • May be required to work from one or more sites in urban Adelaide, including Waite and the Adelaide CBD.
  • The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
