We are working hard to create an inclusive workplace and develop Indigenous careers.The RoleWe have an exciting new opportunity within the Strategy & Analytics team at Medibank, reporting to the Strategy & Commercial Performance Manager.In this role, you will be responsible for using your analytical rigor and commercial mindset to drive a performance culture across the consumer functions of both the Medibank and ahm brands.We are looking for an Analyst who can partner with our acquisition and retention squads to deliver analytical insights and recommendations that enable timely and informed decision-making to enhance member and enterprise value.Where You Can Add Value
Given that this is a technical role, it’s no surprise that there will be some complex elements, such as:
- Using advanced analytics techniques, systems, and software to address key questions in a timely manner by developing fact-based strategic recommendations
- Considering business objectives, internal data, and market trends when evaluating potential business problems or assessing the commercial viability of initiatives
- Enhancing data management processes, tools, and capabilities by contributing to continuous improvement activities and sharing knowledge to lift skills across the team
- Collaborating with other team members, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders to identify and translate requirements, evaluate data sources, and deliver insights and recommendations
Now, Who Are You?Enough about us-let’s talk about you! You are degree-qualified, with outstanding quantitative skills and structured thinking abilities. You are highly comfortable with business and financial concepts, with a strong understanding of profitability and growth drivers.Presentation skills, with the ability to confidently structure and communicate complex information across the business, are essential for this role. You can confidently translate numbers into understandable insights for stakeholders at various levels.You are likely known as a self-starter who can effectively manage competing stakeholders, time, and priorities.You are analytical, have a strong attention to detail, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Your approach to work is both innovative and collaborative.Technical SkillsThe following technical skills are also required:
- Proven track record in analytics, with proficiency in analytical tools such as SAS/SQL/Excel, and data visualization tools such as Tableau/PowerPoint
- Demonstrated expertise in using large and complex data sets
- Big-picture thinking, with the ability to understand the market context and its impact on performance
- Analytics experience in large (ASX-listed) organizations with demonstrated ability to translate insights into recommendations
