Job description: Job Title: Collision Investigation and Prosecution Case ManagerSalary: The starting salary is £34,808, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.The salary is broken down as £31,880 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £34,108. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.Location: SidcupThis is an exciting time to be working as a member of the Collision Investigation and Prosecutions Team. This means that as a CIPT Case Manager, there are more opportunities for you to get involved with making London the safest global city in a time of unprecedented change within the UK’s largest Police service.Role Responsibilities:

  • To act as investigating Officer for personal injury and damage only collision cases reported by operational police officers and self-reported by member of the public
  • To deal with collision’s prosecutions, liaising with the Courts, the Crown Prosecution Service and the witness care teams
  • To ensure that investigations are completed in accordance with standard operating procedures and service level agreements
  • To provide police reports to insurance companies and solicitors where civil actions are contemplated
  • Investigation of the collision cases to which they are assigned ensuring that the activities are followed correctly, promptly and ensuring that COPA records are correctly maintained, and files are archived appropriately
  • Liaison with stakeholders and partners in the CJ process to ensure that appropriate cases are progressed to court
  • Processing all post and emails received within the teams and ensuring they are dealt with promptly and efficiently

  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • The jobholder will manager and prioritise their workload, having regard to demand from internal and external customers, rapidly establishing the importance and urgency of any information provided.
  • This will be in accordance with prescribed Criminal Justice timelines.

Interpersonal skills:

  • A high level of interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships and to use own initiative to make sound and fair decisions.
  • The jobholder will need to work cooperatively with other members of their team including other Collision Investigation and Prosecution Administrators, Police Officer, Police Staff, HMCTS staff and CPS staff.

Desirable criteriaInformation Technology:

  • The jobholder will demonstrate competence in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and keyboards skills.
  • It will also be desirable for the jobholder to be competent in the use of MPS IT systems relevant to their role, such as scanning equipment, CRIS and PNC.

Teamwork:

  • Demonstrate the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team of staff and officers as well as other MPS colleagues and Criminal Justice System agencies and partners.

Problem solving:

  • Demonstrate a methodical and flexible approach to work, with the ability to plan and prioritise workload and allocated tasks.
