Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster, and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.At Metrolinx, equity, diversity and inclusion are essential to living our values of serving with passion, thinking forward and playing as a team.Our Bus Driver Safety & Training Office is looking for a CO-OP Student to assist with the planning, implementation, and monitoring of GO Transit rail services. The CO-OP Student will work with internal stakeholders to provide analytical support in the completion of required tasks and deliverables.What will I be doing?

• Create detailed illustrations to accompany technical instructions for bus operator duties, including pre-trip procedures, equipment checks, and layouts.
• Collaborate with various teams to gather information, take on-site photos, and ensure accuracy in technical documentation.
• Maintain a flexible schedule, occasionally requiring on-site presence and availability for various shifts to capture necessary visuals.
• Taking and editing videos is considered an asset for this role.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

• Must be attending school full-time and returning to an academic institution.
• Must be at least 15 years of age before starting employment.
• Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program, such as Graphic Design, Illustration, or a related field.
• Preference will be given to students who can commence work in May 2024
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Proactive and adaptable, with a passion for producing high-quality technical illustrations.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator with a strong portfolio showcasing technical illustrations.
• Familiarity with relevant software for graphic design and illustration.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise visuals.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in taking and editing videos is considered an asset.
• Note: certain positions require the wearing of Protective Footwear (i.e. Safety Boots or Shoes) to be purchased at your cost
