We are seeking an experienced administrator to join our dynamic team in the Paediatric Neurology team based within Children’s Services. You should be self-motivated, reliable and well organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to demonstrate administration experience with appropriate qualifications, be able to work efficiently and methodically with good attention to detail without direct supervision. The post holder should be flexible to the needs of the service with a positive and proactive attitude.If successful, you will be responsible for liaising with clinical and non-clinical professional staff for the delivery of a high standard of care. Your role will directly impact patient experience and be part of providing seamless delivery of care.

- Diary management and clinic typing for the consultant and their team, i.e. specialist nurses and SpRs.
- Arranging outreach clinics and appointment bookings
- Taking telephone calls from parents/carers/professionals
- Scanning large volumes of clinic correspondence
- Typing and proofreading clinic letters
- Updating and maintaining spreadsheets for appointments
- Arranging meetings for the consultants and their team
- Stamping post for the consultant and their team

- Level 3 qualification in administration or equivalent/relevant experience in administrative role(s)
- English qualification at Level 2 (GCSE Grades 9-4 or A*-C, or Functional or Key Skills at Level 2)
- Maths qualification at Level 1 (GCSE Grades 3-2 or D-F, or Functional or Key Skills at Level 1
Knowledge & ExperienceEssential
- Experience of secretarial/administrative procedures
Desirable
- NHS Administration/Secretarial experience
- Working Knowledge of NHS Systems e.g. eRecord, System One
- Knowledge of medical terminology
Skills & AbilitiesEssential
- IT Skills to include MS Office software packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Advanced keyboard skills including a high standard of word processing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to manage time effectively and work on own initiative
