Job description: Munich Re Beijing Branch, part of Munich Re, the world’s largest reinsurer, is seeking a qualified person with strong profile in client strategy, business development and solid understanding in reinsurance underwriting and other technical aspects. This role is at the forefront of our client centric strategy and the driving seat to cultivate exceptional business relationship and generate growth and profitability out of mainland Chinese P&C clients.The position is based in Beijing and reports to Head of Client Management, Mainland China.YOUR ROLE

• Develop and drive client strategy of the responsible clients (including business with their groups if applicable) and ensure execution of the strategy
• Proactively drive client deal team discussions, bringing various stakeholders together to form solutions for clients
• Strong collaboration required across teams within Munich Re GC and MR Group
• Project management for client initiatives where multiple stakeholders are required
• Manage overall client relationship of the responsible clients in order to realise the planned business contribution to the Greater China portfolio. This includes

• analyzing the current market and client context, environment and trends to identify aspects that are relevant for MR and grow profitable business from the response clients;
• identifying client’s needs through interaction at various levels and solution with MR offerings
• managing comprehensive clients’ accounts, performing excellent overall coordination of Munich Re’s expertise, resources and services, with enhanced delivery, responsiveness and service levels, and
• solution-oriented approach combined with the ability to provide the full spectrum of Munich Re solutions

• Drive the Innovation, development and execution of concrete growth-leading initiatives with the clients
• Continuously manage and cultivate relationships with clients and other relevant market stakeholders e.g. non-insurance clients like governments entities, SOEs, and other financial institutions
• Ensure that client stakeholder visits and internal stakeholder visits to the market are planned, coordinated and executed meticulously
• Present the best of Munich Re, as is relevant to the particular client requirement
• Be a proud ambassador of Munich Re, representing its brand, Identity and values. Contribute to ensuring Munich Re’s thought leadership in the market, regardless of the market cycle.

Your Profile:

• Outstanding academic profile with university degree, if possible in an economics, scientific or law-related discipline, or insurance qualifications
• Minimum 5 years reinsurance experience (underwriting or client management), in-depth mutt-class experience, sound knowledge of primary insurance (products, operations, sales), experience with non-traditional products
• In-depth marketing knowledge. Relevant client management experience. Ability to develop and discuss complex topics with clients, depict and explain potential solutions and professionally represent Munich Re and its value proposition
• Strong client focus, high level of empathy and strong work ethics like collaboration mindset etc. Good and effective negotiation skills.
• Sound knowledge of accounting and reporting, and of the pertinent accounting and supervisory regulations
• Interpersonal skills strengths in relationship management; confident manner, presentation skills, initiative, entrepreneurial nature, franchise strength, excellent team working skills, ability to work under pressure
• Flexibility in travel required based on client needs
• Possess strong problem solving abilities
• Fluent in English and Chinese Mandarin
