Job description: We have a fantastic opportunity at Mediolanum for a senior finance professional to join our organisation as Chief Financial Officer.Reporting to the Managing Director, this senior leadership position will drive the organisation’s financial operations and improve financial performance by providing strategic advice and support to the Managing Director and the Boards of Directors. The CFO will lead all aspects of financial planning and analysis, accounting and reporting, capital management, regulatory and tax compliance, and the legal function.The CFO will also support the Procurement Leader on procurement-related matters. The role will drive transformation projects within the Finance Department and support cross-functional projects as they pertain to finance. As part of the Senior Leadership team, the successful candidate will act as an advisor to the business, providing insight and guidance to identify and drive value creation, setting financial targets, developing financial strategies, monitoring expenditure, conducting feasibility studies, and evaluating investment opportunities.
In an era of rapidly advancing technological change and ever-evolving markets, the CFO will be responsible for embracing and leveraging innovative technologies and leading the transformation programme within the Finance Function to scale the function and support data-driven decision making.This is a highly challenging and demanding role, requiring exceptional management and leadership skills combined with strong strategic, entrepreneurial, and analytical thinking, as well as excellent communication abilities. The successful candidate must have proven financial planning and analysis competencies, coupled with experience in implementing effective financial strategies, improving revenue and margin while maintaining a healthy financial position, and high shareholder confidence. Project management experience and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment are key requirements for this exciting role. The appointment will subject to the requirements of the Central Bank of Ireland’s Pre-Approved Control Function (PCF) and Individual Accountability Framework (IAF) regimes.This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a dynamic, talented, and growing team in a top-tier asset manager in Dublin.Duties •Collaborate with the Managing Director and Senior Management Team to formulate, implement, and deliver on the Company’s defined Business Strategy and provide strategic direction to drive performance excellence.

  • Hold overall responsibility for the finance function, including overseeing day-to-day financial operations (record to report), the timely and accurate production of financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards, and compliance with reporting deadlines. Ensure accounting policies and practices comply with relevant accounting standards.
  • Review and maintain robust and effective financial controls, systems, and processes as required by Group (Law 262, similar to Sarbanes-Oxley).
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements.
  • In partnership with Group and third-party providers as necessary, maintain full compliance with required tax regulations across the Company and Funds (as appropriate).
  • In consultation with Risk and Compliance, understand, assess, and mitigate key elements of the company’s financial risk profile.
  • Ensure the company always maintains its capital requirements.
  • Ensure an audit-ready posture across the function.
  • With respect to financial planning and analysis, analyse and monitor financial performance, taking ownership of and driving a continuous process for the improvement of financial performance to ensure that all strategic goals are achieved.
  • Review departmental budgets, acting as a business advisor and integrator of the total business view while providing insight, positive challenge, and supporting decisions.
  • Prepare and present the Company Annual Budget and Semi-Annual forecasts to the Board of Directors in line with Group guidelines.
  • Analyse complex financial data to define and monitor business objectives (through the implementation of both internal and industry KPIs), benchmark company performance against competitors, and provide actionable insights on the same.
  • Identify and lead initiatives to leverage recent technologies to continuously improve, automate, and scale forecasting/reporting tools, processes, and methodologies with the objective of enhancing decision making in terms of data quality and speed to delivery.
  • Drive and deliver on key strategic projects as they relate to finance. Actively contribute to cross-functional and/or Group Projects as they arise, ensuring successful implementation at the appropriate cost.
  • Own the end-to-end partnership with a broad range of stakeholders including Commercial & Marketing, Product Development, Investments, Risk and Compliance, Operations, and Procurement Leader. Act as the key financial focal point with Group.
  • Manage relationships with various partners such as banks, external auditors, legal firms, and outsource service providers and Mediolanum Group entities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performance finance team, ensuring that the team is equipped with appropriate skills and training.

Qualifications & Experience •Minimum 20 years PQE gained in a senior finance management position with relevant sector experience (Asset Management, Insurance).

  • Excellent commercial awareness with experience in implementing organisational business strategy.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified.
  • Exceptional experience in Financial Planning and Analysis and Accounting.
  • Technology-led mindset, with experience in business intelligence and working with analytics to support data-driven decision making.
  • Proven history of successfully implementing transformational projects.
  • Strong regulatory knowledge (UCITS, AIFMD, etc.).
